Why I am moving my focus from my professional fb page to here...

Twelve years ago I joined facebook. The platform was emblazoned with bold colours, in-your-face fonts and flashing graphics, but it provided a wonderful way of making new friends from across the globe and keeping in touch with loved ones here at home. Also, Facebook provided a new free business platform where every facebook page follower could interact, enjoy and share your posts. Basically, fb was fun and social. However, over the years, facebook kept changing its algorithms and policies, particularly in association with business pages. Today, less than two percent of professional page followers are given access to posts of the pages they follow, unless the business or charity opts to pay facebook a sliding scale of payment; the more you pay per post, the more page followers can see your post.

Over the last couple of weeks, my facebook account has been plagued with technical issues, locking me out and suspending my account on a daily basis. This has never happened before and was rather confusing as I am extremely careful not to click on links or ads and use the two-step login process. After contacting facebook support (which is obviously automated) with no help was forthcoming, I decided to do some research into facebook and related issues. As a result, I have decided that it would be best to move my new posts to this blog instead. All posts on site will be accessible, ongoing to everyone who visits, and anyone with a Google account can add their comments and insights. If you are checking out the posts, you don’t have to login unless you wish to comment; otherwise, just drop by and see what is happening or revisit something you enjoyed onsite before. The great thing is I will also be able to post meditation clips, songs, inspirational clips and other interesting posts that I could not share on facebook, and if I post more than one item, facebook bots won’t lock me out of the system. Another plus, I don’t sell, share, or rent your details or interests to anyone.

While possible, I will continue to post one inspirational message to facebook regularly to keep my account active unless facebook intervenes. The inspirational message I add to facebook will also be included in the regular inspirational posts on this blog, along with other interesting snippets.

Thank you for your continuing support and interest and if you have any questions or comments, I would love to read them!

Love and best wishes,

Sarina
